With cleaner (better filtered and distilled) vodkas like Goose, you will see the liquors smoothly slide down the side of the glass. With am impure vodka like Absolut or Smirnoff, the impurities in the vodka will stick to the side. Pour about 1/2 oz (15mL) each of a vodka and Baileys into a champagne glass or large shot glass. I tended and managed bars for 6 years, there is a little-known but simple test one can do to determine how 'clean' a vodka is: Grey Goose is much cleaner than Absolut or Smirnoff, and is competitive with others in its category.
